It was decided, and with that the council adjourned. Lord Urlryan T'sarrans daughter, Elaralia was accepted as the unofficial Elven emissary to the Samurai.
You see, since the Elves made their presence known in Sosaria they have found humans to be much more diverse than ever expected. For nearly a hundred years the Elven council had debated what should be learned about the different paradigms of humanity and who would be sent.
Urlryan having spent a great deal of his younger years as a herald, was learned in the art of co-existing with different cultures. It was his duty to learn the habits, likes, dislikes, and culture of the diplomats that came to the council. A skill he imparted to his children, namely his daughter Elaralia.
His daughter was perfect for the Samurai ambassador as she shared a kind of similar philosophy already. It was as much an Elven version of Bushido as there ever could be. With premonition he collected some favors he had acquired through the years and had Elaralia trained in the basics of swordplay, as well as combat survival so that when the councils debate was finally closed some fifty years later, she would be ready.
A letter was delivered to the Shogun bearing the heartwood council seal, both intending to open a relationship, and asking for their young Elven student to be trained in Bushido. The ways of the Samurai are somewhat strange to the Elves. And although they may be arrogant, ignorance is not what they are known for.
Elaralia at the behest of her father took on a human name. Kanji Giyu is what she chose as she gathered her things setting off for Tokuno.
