Leaving the teahouse I began thinking of the conversation that was brought up. Love who needs it, its just another excuse to do foolish things. i guess some people need it but i sure as hell dont well i guess thats not totally true but they dont need to know the details. i knew they spoke the truth but that was my old life and now is not the time to think of the past. walking past the the inn i began to walk slower being sure to check my surrounding for anything that seemed out of the ordinary.
Making my way to the center of town and checked on my bank box. i chuckled a little as i opened the crate, the look they gave me when i said i didnt believe in it. i sorted through my belonging and pulled out a freshly sharpened blade, speaking of love i think ill love to try my hand at some more complex carvings. i headed out of town in search of some fresh logs that i could practice on. Heading to the North towards the desert i found a nice piece of log that seemed the right size for my project but the sun had left it dried out, faded and crumbly to the touch. after searching for several minutes i decided to head towards the docks, i was sure i would find what i needed there. Along the way i noticed a wood pile along the side of the mountain after closer examination i found the log that would work perfectly.
standing the log on end i began to visualize the pattern that would emerge from the log. i carefully began to carve away the bark letting the wood of the log guide me. a hour had passed and the shape was beginning to come into focus. i steadily brushed my blade across the surface careful to make each cut that of perfection. First i made minor cuts for the outline, with each curve of my hand the blade began to grip the fine grain of the wood as if it were on auto pilot. Positioning the blade to its side i began to carve the base of the figurine. The fine details came later as i ever so gently guided the blade on its side. I took a step back to take in the full view of the figurine i stepped back and carefully carved my name at its base. blowing and wiping the dust away i was finally finished.
looking at the carved wooden figurine i begain to think, i needed to battle soon or was this life of meaningless figurines all that was left for my blade to come in contact with..
