Approximately nineteen years ago, in a land far from Zento, a second girl was born into a family of high values. The family was struggling financially. In this land, at this time, it was bad luck to
receive two female children and no males. Males were the ones who could go out and earn a living. It was unheard of for a female to do other than serve her family by cooking, cleaning and sewing. Over the
course of the girl's first year her parents took serious notice of the girl's developing personality. Her eyes sparkled with excitement at the sight of a blade. Her sister, elder by a mere eighteen months, was a
social, giggling little baby, already eager to please the adults around her.
In the week before her first birthday, the little girl, seeing her mother busy with her elder sister, wandered into the room of the house that was forbidden to them. Their father's weapon room. Wide
eyes glittering, she slowly looked around the room, jaw slightly dropped, taking in the sight of a large array of different blades. Soon enough she discovered a dagger in the reach of small hands. Picking it up
and examining it, she let out a small giggle, loud enough to be heard by her mother. The mother pursed her lips and quietly sped walk in the direction of the seemingly cute and innocent noise. She creaked
open the door just in time to see her small girl throwing a dagger at the wall.

Her long dark brown hair draped over her ninjitsu book and laid across the table as she slept, drooling on the back of her hand. Somewhere in the house a door slammed and angry footsteps
came closer and closer to the corner table where she had sat to study. She sat up straight and looked around, just as a young woman with vivid purple hair came storming over to her. She looked up at her,
blinking her eyes sleepily. The angry young woman put her hand on her hip and just looked at her.
"What's up, Moreta?", the young ninja croaked at the elf.
"I got picked on again today!" she squeaked, rubbing her pointy ears with a frown.
"Aw, I'm sorry", she yawned.
"That's it, Edda? You don't care? Why doesn't Minerva ever get harassed?" she demanded.
Edda chuckled a little, stopping abruptly as she glanced up at the livid look on Moreta's face. All she got out was "Um.. well.. "
"She's my twin sister! Obviously she's an elf, too!"
"Well, yeaah.. But.. She's kind of scary. I mean.. She studies necromancy. You spend your days singing to your flowers and naming baby dragons"
At these words Moreta huffed and puffed and stormed off to find someone else to complain to. Edda sighed and tied her hair in a ponytail. She opened a drawer in her small desk and grabbed her
ninja hood, pulling it on, she left her studying for later.

At this time in her young teenage life, Edda belonged to the Sleeping Dragon Alliance in Zento. This is where she met her first group of ninjas, as well as her first puppy love, Tsu Tosuki. He gave
up time to help her train, and took her to many beautiful gardens and taverns. Edda was very shy of boys, as much as she liked Tsu Tosuki, she would rarely utter many words, let alone take off her ninja hood
for him. Although Edda would never admit it to anyone she was happy, but as is the case with most that follow the path she chose so early in life it would not last. Edda will never forget the night the time came
when he told her he would have to leave. He took her hands in his, placed a small bracelet in one, closed it tight and held it. He told her he would return, and if she needed him before he could, this bracelet
would help her find him again. He gently kissed her small hands and slipped into the shadows leaving nothing but the crisp night air biting at what little exposed skin she had and the almost mocking reflection
of the moon in the pond that Tsu's body hid but moments ago.
Every day, Edda looked at that bracelet. Occasionally she wondered what would happen if she put it on, but she always fought the urge and continued down the hard path of studying ninjitsu. But it
wasn't long before the day came when her curiosity overcame her. She slipped the bracelet on and was led as though she had no control over her feet. She walked a long time until she saw him in the
distance. She grinned behind her hood, but when she got closer, she realized he wasn't happy. He rushed to her, looking concerned, asking her what was wrong. She shrugged and reached out for his hand.
His expression lightening, he watched her hand intertwined with his and looked back up at those deep brown eyes inside the hood. They stood and hugged for what seemed like hours, before he brought her
to a blue gate and sent her home to Zento.
Days like these happened multiple times in the next year. Edda tried to fight the feeling to slip on the bracelet and take the long walk for one simple hug, but she could not. Each time Tsu Tosuki
acted like he knew she should not be there, but he never told her not to come back. And each time, the walk got longer, and the hug got shorter. Until one day.. When Edda picked up the bracelet and slipped
it on her tiny wrist, she sat, stationary, her legs had no destination. As much as she did not want to admit it she knew the bond was broken, and Tsu Tosuki would never come home.
Edda was determined not to let her emotions get in the way of her studies. In fact, the heartbreak seemed to push her harder into focusing on what was truly important, and less on matters of the
heart. She fell out of the Sleeping Dragon Alliance and continued on her own. She dyed her hair deep blood red and changed her armor in hopes that her friends would never recognize her around Zento.
For three years Edda continued her training, however half heartedly. Her trips to Zento were less frequent then she would have liked but as much as she tried they always reminded her of him. It was
during one of these seemingly uneventful trips that Edda would find her true destiny, even if it was destiny that found her. To any that may have been watching that day it would have seemed a rabid wolf had
invaded the town, but for those that paid any attention they would have seen this wolf had intent, this fact was not unnoticed by all and little to her knowledge she was being followed.
She ran into the middle of town, to where the city's bankers sat, jumped out of wolf form and quietly asked Rolf to show her her bank box. All of her friends had gone and Zento was dead to what seemed
like everyone but her. Even with her lack of any real recent training Edda's instinct told her she was not alone she peeked over her shoulder just in time to see a man in a blue kasa step out of the shadows.
Expecting the worse Edda, with no hesitation, pulled her blade and rushed the man putting it to his neck demanding his name and what he wanted. The stranger, knowing he had no chance at living past the
next five minutes had he not, began to explain he had noticed her in her last few trips to the city, and knew from experience she was a studying the path of ninjitsu. He told her of a new clan that had come
from a distant land, and discovered this dead city, and had made it their new goal as a group to build it back up to its deserved glory. This news sparked Edda's interest. He introduced himself as Shilo
Takanashi and that he himself had only just joined this Blue Lotus in their endeavors. He led her to a dojo, and introduced her to a man that only went by the name Souchiro, a sensei of the clan. He gestured
for her to sit across from him at the table, and poured her some tea. This is where the words were spoken that would change Edda's life forever.
After that Edda visited that dojo everyday. She became their newest student with many guiding, helping and pushing her to limits, months before, she would not have thought possible. She knew in
her heart she found her home. She was happy again, happy enough to make friends and go to taverns again, even if she wouldn’t admit it to herself, let alone others. Her days were now filled with tough
training and her heart with a conviction she had not felt in years. She pushed herself towards her goal of being a true member of this new found clan, to serve with them, protect the beautiful city of Zento and
better herself as a ninja. The very first night in a tavern, out of her ninja gear, a young man in her clan showed interest in her. He was two ranks above her, and told her in secret that he was afraid she would
find someone else before she moved up in rank, and he could make her his. It was slightly alarming to Edda, to have a man demanding her to be his and only his, when three short years ago; she had
dismissed any will for commitment or love of any kind. A part of her wanted to give in and commit to him, but her mind kept forcing her to play with his heart, and chase him away. No matter how she treated
him, though, he has stayed by her side.
Within two weeks, the Soke Bishimi gave her the final test, and she was welcomed into Blue Lotus as a full fledged member. As a new Shodan, she wore her red jacket with pride and continued to
push herself forward like a woman possessed. Her time in the clan seemed to fly by and in no time she had all but forgot about her old life. The elders of the clan seeing her commitment, not only to the Lotus
but to herself, saw fit to promote her yet again to the rank of Nidan in only two months time. Edda continues to this day to show that same dedication and resolve to be nothing but the best and if one were to
ask any other member of the clan they would surely say it is only a matter of time.
