Yesterday (6/14/05) I recieved a report that Kikipu of the OBL, was victim of an unprovoked attack and subsequent theft of all his belongings.
What happened yesterday was tragic, but has accomplished several things.
FIRST: It's imperative that if this ever happens to YOU that you contact your next highest point available to you in your Chain of Command. And that's what happened. Kiki contacted Oroku, who contacted Shinto, who contacted me. And I contacted the individual's Guildmaster and got the problem solved.
SECOND: The rules of engagement were apparently unclear to the person in question. Rule 1 is that we don't initiate combat unless within a Role Play setting. Rule 2 is that we don't loot ANYTHING off of anyone we should happen to kill. (any questions on this, please ask)
After contacting the leaders the individual answered too, all the items stolen were returned, and the rules of engagement were clarified to the individual committing the act.
I would like to offer my deepest gratitude to Shodan Oroku for helping difuse the situation. I can understand that the folks near the area wanting to return the favor in kind, but that would have lowered ourselves to the level the individual was currently at. And that would have been wrong.
The guild this individual belongs in is an allied partner we consider friend and misunderstandings need to be resolved instead of letting something like this disrupt the overall relationship with the allie.
In the end, it all worked out and knowledge on behavior was taught to the unknowing. Thus, we all came out ahead of the game.
