Hey Yuna... I looked this out for shits and giggles and morbid curiousity, to see if there was a Japanese winter holiday here is what I found.
In Japan there is a god or priest known as Hoteiosho, who closely resembles our Santa Claus. He is always pictured as a kind old man carrying a huge pack. He is thought to have eyes in the back of his head. It is well for the children to be good when this all-seeing gentleman is abroad. New Year's Day is the most important day of the whole calendar in Japan.
On New Year's Eve the houses are cleaned thoroughly from top to bottom, and are decorated for the morrow. when everything has been made clean and neat the people of the house dress themselves in their finest clothes. Then the father of the household marches through the house, followed by all the family, and drives the evil spirits out. He throws dried beans into every corner bidding the evil spirits withdraw and good luck enter.

Just thought people would get a kick outta it. And it would give me something to watch when people beat the crap out of each other for kissing the wrong person

Saki and Egg nog.. Better get buckets set up for the vomiting.. HAHA...
Well what creature in Tokuno would be entertaining if we can tame like 4 to 6 of them, we can create gm armor, gm weapons, give em a bag with 5 pots of each potion. its a Scream.
We did this on GL for a festival we did, years ago, never seen it done here. Only thing we need a place to make a "ring"
If your all down I will put up a big $$ prize

Panda and I ran this event at the last festival and it wasn't all that big of a hit, barely anyone could even take care of a first level monster which was the kitsune. On top of that most everyone was just sitting around rping which seems to be all anyone wants to do in atlantic.

My idea for for something during this event, due to its proximity to Christmas, was to celebrate one of the Japanese gods.
In Japan, there are these 7 gods, the Shichifukujin, or The Seven Gods of Good Fortune. They all have their own little specialty, one for fishing, one for love, one for demon bashing, etc. Well there's this one guy in particular among them that is kinda like a Japanese Santa Clause. His name's Hotei, which literally translates to "Cloth Bag". He is always represented with a huge stuffed sack and the goodies in his bag symbolize the good things in life. Like gold, cars, wine.. etc. According to lore, he loves having his big fat belly rubbed, and it's no surprise he is called the Laughing Buddha. It is said if you rub his belly, he showers you in goodies.
I was thinking maybe we could have a guy pretending to be him, handing stuff out if people rub his belly. You know, dressed up in a Hotei costume.
